Happy Thanksgiving!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving we've had!  We started the day with Cafe Papa -- Uncle Terry and Aunt Gae's tradition of thin buttermilk pancakes and all the other breakfast fixins.  So yummy!  We will really miss them next year when they're on their mission.  Dan spent the morning doing what he looks forward to every year: playing some fast and furious football in the ward Turkey Bowl!  He was very proud to be named defensive player of the game for the second year in a row and came up with three interceptions.  We spent the rest of the day at my parents' house, cooking up a storm, then had a most delicious Thanksgiving feast with many loved ones and friends.  Is there anything better than that?  I can't think of much!

I've really enjoyed blogging each day this month about things that I'm thankful for, so I've decided to cap it off today with a list of just a few of the many blessings in my life that I haven't already mentioned.  I'm thankful for:

  • Hugs
  • My nieces and nephews
  • My in-laws (parents-in-law, siblings-in-law, grandparents-in-law, etc.) -- I think I really have the most wonderful family-in-law.
  • Indoor plumbing
  • The internet -- without it I wouldn't be able to work from home or keep in touch with the many friends I've met or reconnected with!
  • Crafting
  • Service -- other people have helped us in so many ways, and it means so much to me!
  • A reliable, comfortable car
  • Dan's good job and how hard he works at it
  • The ability to be a stay-at-home mom.
  • Rain
  • Flowers
  • Christmas (ooh, I can't wait to start putting up decorations now)
  • Beautiful things -- God could have made the world bland and boring, but He didn't -- he gave us beautiful things all around to inspire us and make us happy!
  • Kind strangers
  • Great teachers
  • Yard sales and Kid-to-Kid
  • Living so close to my family
  • Pictures to record memories
  • That we were blessed with my sweet sister Carissa, and how she continues to influence our family.
  • My new mixer
  • My grandparents and the great example they've all set for me.
  • Friends
  • Skype
  • A nice, comfortable bed and a warm dyne (what are they called in English -- down comforter, I think...)
  • Cute undershirts (like Shade, ModBod, etc) that make it possible to modestly wear lots of other cute things
  • Good advice
  • Good listeners
  • Smiles
  • Kind words from anyone, about anything
  • The ability to change for the better and learn from the past
  • Grace
  • Living prophets and apostles
  • The Gift of the Holy Ghost
  • The Book of Mormon and Bible
  • The temple
And most of all, for my Heavenly Father, because without His love and merciful kindness I know that I wouldn't have any of these blessings.  He has given me so very much, and I pray that I can in turn bless the lives of those around me.  I pray that I may truly "live in thanksgiving daily!"
